How do I get better in sitting on my left split?

I almost have my left split for dance but I have to be able to sit in it for 6 counts. I know it's not long at all but my coach says that I have to sit in my split to be in the dance. I'm almost there. I practice my split every day and push my self to go down but I was wondering if anyone had any tips to make this easier. Also I only have one week. Not much time but I'm willing to do anything to get my split.How do I get better in sitting on my left split?
