What is the best way to adjust your body 2 doing splits?

I'm in dance and its my goal this summer to do a split (either way). What is the best way to adjust your body to doing one? Do you do a routine each day to flex yourself r do u just go down a little more each day? What is the best way to adjust your body 2 doing splits?
Stretching is the best thing you can do. Intensive stretching. You will be pushing your bodies flexibility, particularly your muscles. Start small then work your way into a higher level of ';strain.'; If you watch TV, sit in a straddle on the floor and stretch generously while you do so. A whole TV show of that a day will help open up your muscles to be more plaible. Then, make sure you do a lot of other stretches, additionally to get all of your muslces working. I can email you some if you want. Doing the splits, make sure you are not flexing your toes, be sure to point them to obtain the best longetive stretch of your muscles. Gradually as you become more flexible, you will get lower and lower until you hit a perfect split. What is the best way to adjust your body 2 doing splits?
The key to flexibility is to be persistent and consistent. Stretch every day, and create a routine. Use multiple types of stretches, like the butterfly, pike, straddle, splits, etc.

Always hold a stretch at the point of mild discomfort. Stop if you feel any serious pain. Hold for a minimum of 20 or 30 seconds (more is better) and absolutely do not bounce in the stretch.

I usually recommend you stretch while doing something else (just don't lose track of the stretch, as over-stretching can cause injury) like watching TV, reading, homework, etc.

Make a routine and go through it once or twice a day, every day. You will see a difference, although it will take a little while, so be patient.

Each day go as far as you can (without hurting yourself) and hold it for about one minute. Also, every day go down a little bit more than the day before. It depends upon your flexibility, but it took me about a month to get flat. Don't push yourself too hard though, because then you will be very sore. You can also do different types of stretches to stretch out your legs, and sometimes I do ';wall splits';. That's when you stand up and split against the wall. By the end of the summer you should be flat!
Time yourself. Go down in your splits. Set a timer for 20 seconds, when that gets easier set it for 30. then 40, and so on until you get to a minute thirty seconds. Don't EVER have somoeone push you down, and don't over do it, if you're sore, then you're sore. Give it a rest for a day for two, but do your other stretches. YOU SHOULD DO A STRETCH ROUTINE EVERYDAY!!! That will help with your splits.
do pilates every day and you will be able to do a split in 2 weeks i know from experience..you can purchase a pilates/yoga dvd at a walmart or video store dont give up! And dont let how other people treat you at the dance studio get you down there either jealous of how beautiful you are or your talent.people are nasty to others when they recognize competition! Keep you head held high girl!!! xoxox
You need to stretch out beforehand, then each day try to go down a little more

What is the best way to become flexible enough for the splits?

I need to be more flexible with my legs for high kicks. When I stretch or try to high kick I have pain in my hip. What is the best way to become flexible enough for the splits?
ok well you dont need to be cutting or pulling anything.. all it takes is a little time and dedication... you need to make sure you strech everyday for atleast 20min, open your legs facing a wall and push against the wall always try and open a little further each time, aswell as put your heel up as far as possible on a wall or somewhere that you can balance keeping both legs straight try put your head on your knee do this on both legs. these streches pull the main muscles you need for the splits but you need to actually make sure you do not over do it but also push yourself that little extra every time and also strech the rest of your body properly befor attemting to do the splits or kick high.. i promise youlget there!!! it will become easier with timeWhat is the best way to become flexible enough for the splits?
You have proberly heard of plenty of streching exercise, but that aside the thing is to remember to warm-up properly. Think of your muscles as putty or play-dough, if you try to pull it when its cold it will just snap, as like your muscle's... but warm-up properly like you would with the play-dough and your muscle's will strech out with much more eash and discomfut.

Some good warm-up's are jogging/running or dynamic streching as this will warm you for streching and strech your muscle's at the same time, good if your short of time to strech.

Hears a good link for some info-

Good luck on doing the splits!
Cut all the ligaments in your leg with a sharp piece of glass. Then you should be able to do splits just fine. Or you could get one of those split machines. Or you could just strech em out, try doing horse stance and going wider and lower, when you can't go any more hold it, keep your back straight! Breathe and hold that position as lonng as you can with stability. Once you get a little better try having a partner push down on your shoulders, but don't try to go 2 far at once, cuz you can seriously injure yourself. If you remain dedicated your range should definetly improve. Hope you succeed!
Have a couple friends tie ropes around your legs and pulls your legs apart as hard as they coud until you finally do a split. Oh and you'll need a wood to bites on.

What is with the split green screen on my videos in my Zune software?

I uploaded videos that I own and for some reason, those videos have a split screen where the bottom half is all green. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this? What is with the split green screen on my videos in my Zune software?
That is a problem with your converter. Win Movie Maker does that to me when I try to change the original ratio from fullscreen to wide screen. Either tinker with your converters settings until you fix the problem or try another converter.

I have an LG split system air conditioner and sometimes it makes this annoying whistling noise?

The noise comes from the unit inside the house. Almost sounds like a bird is in there but trust me its not a bird!!!! Anyway before i have to fork out heaps of money just wondering if any of you had experienced this, or could tell me what it might be. Maybe i can fix it without hiring an electrician.I have an LG split system air conditioner and sometimes it makes this annoying whistling noise?
It is probably either a fan motor going bad or the blower wheel rubbing on something.I have an LG split system air conditioner and sometimes it makes this annoying whistling noise?
You can find plenty of people to install these systems but troubleshooting ductless systems is completely foreign to most technicians in the United States. One reason for this is that these units operate completely differently than a traditional ducted air conditioning system system. Also the service manuals for these things read like they've been poorly translated from Korean. Probably your best bet would be to call LG at 1-800-243-0000 and see if they can either tell you what might be going wrong over the phone or recommend someone that is qualified to diagnose and repair these systems.

Why does it have to be in 3 chapters? I don't see how this question can be answered without looking in detail at your thesis.

What type of counselor does a person with a split personality go to?

My boyfriend has a split personality and I want to know is he should go to a counselor, therapist, psychologist, etc. What type of counselor does a person with a split personality go to?
A counselor cannot prescribe medication; he (or she) is only there for you to talk to.

    The same with a therapist.

If he needs medication, only a psychiatrist can prescribe that.

On the other hand: Who says that he has a split personality? You? Your parents? His parents? A person cannot get helped until he (or she) first acknowledges a need to be helped.

    *** EDIT ***

OK, now that I see your added details, it is obvious that he wants to be helped. I am not sure of the law, but I do know that his parents are still responsible for him, and while he may be able to talk to whomever he chooses, when it comes to any medication I am pretty sure that his parents need to be the ones to approve of that.

When he turns 18, of course, that will be a different story, but NOW ...

But get the diagnosis first. I'm not saying that he is, but I remember when I was that age I imagined that I had all sorts of ';psychological'; problems. Most times those ';problems'; were just convenient excuses for me to act the way that I did.

    People are always looking for an excuse; claiming schizophrenia is often nothing more than a more grown-up way of saying ';someone else did it - not me.';

You are doing the right thing by seeking out a doctor, but only he (or she) is qualified to say whether your BF is schizophrenic or not. What type of counselor does a person with a split personality go to?
Who has done the diagnosis? If he is a split personality he needs a psychiatrist! But if it is just your opinion and his opinion or even a whole groups opinion that he has a split personality disorder, then I would suggest that he take his concerns to any medical doctor and they should provide him with information as to what he can do next.
he should go see a psychiatrist at a psychiatric hospital, and if he does have the disorder he couldn't have diagnosed himself because split personalities are never aware of eachother, so whoever diagnosed him is an idiot and should have had him sent to a hospital

and no im not saying he needs a mental institution, a psychiatric hospital is just where people with certain disorders like that go to get the safest recovery possible
Maybe--call a clinic and talk to the psychology department. My ex has a multiphasic personality--he's one person in one place and another in another place. He's a good guy, a bad guy, a rich guy, a religious guy, a scheister, a tough guy, says he's a widower, says he has 4 kids (has 5, never paid much child support on ANY of them: two ex wives, both living so is NOT a widower.) If he'd just be himSELF! All of us can assume different attitudes in different places: like we're more relaxed and nonchalant at home than we are at work; we know people put on aires at church. But he goes to extremes and sometimes even changes his name. His different personalities don't talk to each other--he just is a different person depending on what he's doing. It's sad for him, me, all his kids (I have 2 of the 5, theres three other mothers.) My girls are extremely smart, but life was rough with no child support--one is doing ok work wise but hates me for everything that ever happened to her. The younger one sort of gave up--has a 2 year old and they live with me. He's a pretty neat little guy--tomorrow is actually his 2nd birthday. I wish I was younger and had more time and energy to keep up with him. I want the best for him--and hope his grandpa(s) never lays eyes on him.
Seek out a psychiatrist or psychologist (PhD or PschD) who is licensed and specializes in this disorder; contact Am Psychological Asso and/or Am Psychiatric Asso, local mental health agency, or get referral from a physician.
