its my first time using vegas and im totally lost. i know how to import stuff but thats about it. i wanted to post a movie on youtube but its like an hour and a half long. i obviously cant post it as 1 part so i have to cut it into 10 minute segments. how do i split the movie into segments then save those 10 minute segments on my computer to post on youtube without opening a totally new project? How do you split a movie into pieces then save those individual pieces onto your computer with Sony Vegas 9?
Well, this isn't really what Vegas is for, but you can do it quite easily. With the default tool selected (press CTRL+D to select it), click and drag across a section of the timeline so it's highlighted. This is a ';loop region';. The yellow triangles denote the start and finish points. Then when you go to render the video check the ';render loop region only'; box. Once it's doen, bot back and select a different region and so on.
If you want precise control of the start and finish points, use markers. Move to where you want to split the video and click on the timeline. Then press ';m'; to insert a marker. The loop selection tool will naturally snap to these markers so you can more accurately select your regions.

How do I split an audio file into seperate sections?
I am using Windows Media Maker 2.1, if you need to know that information to answer me. What I am trying to do is use just a section of the middle of the song in the video, and that's it.
Thanks! How do I split an audio file into seperate sections?
I guess you wanted to say ';Windows Movie Maker';. This is how to do so.
To split a video or audio clip
1. In the Contents pane or on the storyboard/time line, click the clip you want to split.
2. On the Play menu, click Play Clip, and then click Pause Clip on the Play menu to pause the video at the point you want to split the clip.
-or-
On the monitor, move the playback indicator on the seek bar to the point you want to split the clip.
3. On the Clip menu, click Split.

left click on the main .rar file and then click extract.
There are a couple of different programs that can do this.
I use 7zip, it's good and it's free.
unzip them all to the same folder and then run the exe file.

What can I put along the bottom of my split rail fence to keep my trimmer from tearing up the fencing?
What would be a good idea to preserve condition of the fencing near the ground?
I need something that isn't an eye sore either. I've killed the grass along the fence line, which has helped, but no matter how hard I try I keep hitting the metal fencing with the trimmer.
Any ideas? What can I put along the bottom of my split rail fence to keep my trimmer from tearing up the fencing?
Get some 1/4'; flat bar 4'; wide go along fence line with straight shovel down about 2'; and run bar along bottom of fence that will give you 2'; of bar for string to hit against. Good luck.bob hair

How can we split rooms in our house for uni fairly without meeting up?
I am starting uni this year and have got a house with three strangers. We all live quite far away from each other and before we move we need to decide what rooms we are having in the house. What is a fair way to do this without having to meet up?How can we split rooms in our house for uni fairly without meeting up?
Talk to them about who gets what room and if they want to leave it to chance you guys can always use an online dice roller and see who gets first pick or just show up there and figure things out.How can we split rooms in our house for uni fairly without meeting up?
The only way is to look at the floor plan of the house and try to come to an agreement via email or phone obviously.

Can an employer split your time to avoid giving you benefits?
If your work for one company, doing two jobs with separate pay scales but ultimately working a full 40 hours a week, doesn't that make you elegable for benefits? Does the employer have the right to deny you such benefits because each position is part-time?Can an employer split your time to avoid giving you benefits?
In my opinion, you have a full time, 40 hour pr week job. The employer is merely ';reassigning'; you from one task to another.
Failure to provide full time benefits may be discriminatory.
Talk to the Human Resources Department, if any. If not, file a complaint with the Department of Labor for your State, and since, I suspect that there are other employees similarly situated, the National Labor Relations Board to inquire as to your rights. Can an employer split your time to avoid giving you benefits?
Yes...more than likely if it's two completely separate part time positions. A lot of companies these days will only give up to 35 hrs (or less) on ANY job they offer to keep from having to pay benefits. I'd try to find a full time single position in the company if I were you...or start looking for another job. Benefits are too important..can't go without them these days. Good luck!
First, each company establishes what is full time and part time. There is no law that 40 hours a week = full time.
Second, each company decides who will get what benefits if any at all based on whatever factors they want as long as they are not illegal discrimination. Most are typically consistent with who is awarded what as most carriers won't insure unless there are narrowly defined eligibility requirements. Plus, consistency in awarding benefits is good business (happy employees = productive employees).
The summary plan description (legal document) of each benefit will tell you if your are eligible or not, as will the plan administrator (usually the highest level HR or accounting professional at a company). If the company is not going by their own summary plan description they may be in violation of ERISA (The Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974). Key word is MAY.
My suggestion is to inquire about eligibility requirements for benefits with the actual plan administrator. Ask for the summary plan descriptions as well. If you need assistance interpreting these documents shoot me an email, I would be happy to help.
Usually it totally depends on your contract, but 2 different jobs in the same company is unusual. I would contact the state labor board for your state and ask them the question. Your state may require benefits in that circumstance but the employer my not be aware.
It sounds to me like he's hired you for two part time jobs. I think probably that he could deny you benefits based on that fact, however the State you live in should have a labor relations department and you could run it by them. Good luck.
