What is the best way to prevent split ends?

I'm tired of cutting the ratty ends away! How can I prevent them? What is the best way to prevent split ends?
Apple cider vinegar is a healthy conditioner for hair. After you wash your hair and rinse it, use a vinegar rinse using a couple of tablespoons of vinegar mixed with about a cup of water. I lightly rinse out the vinegar water with clear water. Some say you don't have to...that you can leave it in. When your hair dries you won't smell vinegar. What is the best way to prevent split ends?
conditioner in shower and spray ends with non-green tea conditioner. Stay away from alcohol hair products
1) Cut away the split ends as high as they go

2) Use a conditioner at the end of the shower and only one your ends

3) If you blow dry your hair, use ANYTHING to protect your hair

4) Don't shower every day--shower every OTHER day.
1. Trim the split ends regularly Is it longer than shoulder length?

2. Use a leave in conditioner on the ends, ask your local beautician, or use an oil you like.

3. Use a large tooth plastic comb, with a handle, to comb through your ends. They usually have one or two basic colors, get the kinds with the handle, so you don't tear through your hair. Don't get the teeth too close together.

4. Give yourself an afternoon each week to work on this, until it becomes regular practice, and keep up with your local beautician @ it. Find someone sensible and reasonable priced.
Keep them trimmed regularly, about every 4-6 weeks :)
i use tresseme hair products before blow drying, it's heat a protector... i use the heat taming spray and straightening gel. my ends have gotten a lot better.
keep your hair trimmed regularly and don't fry your hair with straighteners, curling irons, blow dryers, or dyes. also some products really help. i use brilliant brunette shine shock and it seems to help a lot.

GOOD LUCK =)
keep your hair braided most of the time, and always use a good condition in the shower. comb it through. never brush your hair when it is wet.
Try a good conditioner----like Pantene and hot oil treatments every two weeks.
Well be sure you have good shampoo coz a strong one can make your hair really dry. Also use conditioner because it helps your hair to be soft and stuff. If you try to make your hair grow really really long then yeah you will have problems with split ends. But do hot oil on your own sometimes and be sure you get the ends! you can buy stuff for hotoil at target or walmart for a cheap price.!
instead of cutting them away once they get split just trim the ends every so often
i use this product called terax creama...it works so well...you apply to your ends leave in for about 10 minutes then wash...

don't brush your hair when is wet,

and honestly is also bad to brush your hair but is something you have to do...

of course cute your hair 4-6 weeks to maintian length and cut dead ends
shave your head
Trimming your hair every 2 months or so will reduce split ends and prevent long hair from looking ratty. Styling, brushing, drying, and other factors can cause split ends if they are not gentle on hair. The outer layer of hair is composed of scales. When healthy they lie flat and cause the hair to looky shiny and healthy. On the other hand, the scales can stick up oddly and cause breakage and split ends. Beware of products that claim to heal split ends because they only temporarily glue split ends back together. Make sure your hair is properly moisturized.
